Hsu’s family confirmed her passing on Monday, with her younger sister, Taiwanese host Dee Hsu, delivering the devastating news.


"Thank you for all the concern,"
Dee shared. "During the Lunar New Year, our family traveled to Japan for a holiday. My most beloved and kindest elder sister, Barbie, contracted influenza-related pneumonia and, unfortunately, has left us."

She continued, "I am grateful to have been her sister in this life. We have taken care of each other for so many years, and I will always cherish her memory. Shan [Barbie’s nickname], rest in peace. We love you always. Together, remember forever."
